Our team is divided into editors and contributors.
Contributors are tasked with writing one or more pieces per month. These pieces can vary from general articles, listicles, opinion pieces, playlists, artwork, photo albums, and many more. Contributors have free reign to write whatever they want, so long as it matches the monthly theme. Contributors can come from any grade level, though most begin in DP.
There are far less editors than contributors, with only one Editor-in-chief per batch. Editors are those tasked with deciding each issue's theme, publishing the articles onto our website and Instagram, and editing articles to perfection. Generally speaking, our editors are in charge of the team of contributors as well as the creative direction of the Post. Junior editors are those in Year 11, while Senior editors are those in Year 12.
Erin Alisya Setiawan (2019-2021)
"Call me a nepotist, but I gave Erin her position because we were friendly and I enjoyed spending time with her. I knew Erin was responsible enough to manage this, but what I did not expect was how diligent she was. I remember waking up in the morning to enthusiastic late night texts from Erin suggesting article ideas, and when I was absent she even documented the entire Year End Concert in Mentari Post’s story — it was even Erin’s idea for us to be more inclusive and open submissions to the rest of the student body. I was initially afraid of handing over Mentari Post to someone who wouldn’t put as much effort into it as I did, and it’s only now I realize that it’s in better hands. Someone could have done half the work Erin did, and I would still be beyond satisfied, yet her eagerness to make Mentari Post something greater is only testament to her dedication. Diligence itself is not remarkable, but winning someone over with a message of care, inclusion, and genuine enthusiasm, when so many others choose an easier route — that is remarkable." - Annaya Rangkuty

Annaya Taradyla Rangkuty, Co-Founder (2018-2020)
"When I first met Annaya Rangkuty, I was in the ninth grade and in need of a Romeo and Juliet book after losing mine. She gave me the book in exchange for me paying for her lunch. We both did not know much of the other - I just knew her as Danica’s friend. Fast forward a year later, Annaya and I are bonding over Jake Gyllenhaal, metal straws and respecting women. She even became my makeshift mentor for Model United Nations after our all-time favorite, Sir Ferdinand linked us up. After she gave me the role of Junior Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of Mentari Post, she gave me a ten minute briefing in the library talking about her love of themed issues and her admirable expertise in Canva. It became clear as ever that the Mentari Post you know and love today is the manifestation of Annaya’s passion, dedication and care of giving Mentarians the content that they will enjoy, but will also learn from. I got the chance to interview her about the chops of it all." - Erin Alisya
Aulia Ibrahim, Co-Founder (2017-2019)
"Working under Aulia has helped me develop two of the most admirable characteristics a person could have; patience and resilience." - Annaya Rangkuty
